30-year-old dies after motorcycle crash with teen in Omaha

A 30-year-old Council Bluffs man died from his injuries Thursday after a 17-year-old boy allegedly crashed into his motorcycle along L Street in Omaha, according to authorities. The 17-year old boy allegedly crashed into Droeschers' motorcycle along L Street, causing serious bodily injury and other injuries. The boy was arrested and taken to the Douglas County Youth Center on suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of liquor, failure to maintain a lane, no proof of insurance, no valid vehicle registration and no driver's license. New charges will be brought against the boy due to Droesher's death.

A 30-year-old Council Bluffs man died from his injuries Thursday after a 17-year-old boy allegedly crashed into his motorcycle along L Street in Omaha, according to authorities.

Jaramiah Droescher died three days after he was hit by a 17-year-old male driver along L Street near the 39th Street intersection on Monday. According to Omaha police, Droescher was driving a blue 2023 Suzuki DR-Z400 motorcycle east along L Street when he was struck by the westbound teen who drifted into oncoming traffic shortly before 8 p.m. on Monday.

Omaha Fire Department medics took Droescher to the Nebraska Medical Center, where he later died.

Police arrested the boy and took him to the Douglas County Youth Center on suspicion of driving under the influence and causing serious bodily injury, minor in possession of liquor, failure to maintain a lane, no proof of insurance, no valid vehicle registration and no driver's license.

Police said new charges will be brought against the teen because of Droescher’s death.
