Kentucky Baseball's flight to Omaha for the College World Series was delayed, but the team still came out to greet fans who came to send them off. The Kentucky Baseball team is heading to the College World Series, where they will face NC State in Omaha. Over a hundred fans gathered at Kentucky Proud Park to welcome the team's departure, but their flight was delayed due to a delayed flight. The team still made the rounds to greet fans and celebrate their journey to Omaha. The game will begin on Saturday against NC State. The Kentucky Baseball team is off to the College World Series — or it will be soon, at least. Over a hundred fans came out to Kentucky Proud Park to send the Cats off to Omaha, just for Nick Mingione to share the news that the team’s flight was delayed.

“I have good news: we are going to Omaha,” Mingione said. “The not-so-great news is our flight has been delayed. But on behalf of our players and our staff, we just wanted to tell you how thankful we are for you coming out today and for what you’ve done for this team all season. We’re going to do our best to bring home another trophy and make you proud.”

The team still made the rounds to greet fans and soak up the good vibes. Steven Peake was there to capture the sights and sounds for us. Kentucky opens College World Series play on Saturday vs. NC State at 1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET on ESPN.
