The most interesting news in the lithium space in the past week was the word that Occidental Petroleum and Berkshire Hathaway Energy Renewables have formed a joint venture for lithium The most recent news was that Occidental Petroleum and Berkshire Hathaway Energy Renewables have formed a joint venture for lithium extraction, with the aim of testing whether an Occidental subsidiary has the right technology to extract lithium from brine used at 10 geothermal power plants in California. The company is led by Warren Buffett, the "Oracle of Omaha," who is also involved in developing technology developed by Albemarle, Standard Lithium, Tetra Technologies and ExxonMobil in South Arkansas. A petition is being collected during Juneteenth festivities for the repeal of the LEARNS Act. One year ago, the Panther Pantry provided 1,700 meals in its first year of operation.

They are going to test whether an Occidental subsidiary has the right technology to extract lithium from brine that’s now used at 10 geothermal power plants in the Imperial Valley region of California. We’ll have to see how that works out. The big name behind both companies is famed investor Warren Buffett, the “Oracle of Omaha.” He’s dipping his toe into technology that Albemarle, Standard Lithium, Tetra Technologies and ExxonMobil are developing here in South Arkansas. Join the party.
