The drivers of both vehicles were uninjured, but White was pronounced dead at the scene. A child riding in the SUV was taken to Children’s Hospital with serious injuries but non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.

OTOE COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) - A Missouri woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 2 near Syracuse on Saturday.

The Nebraska State Patrol said 87-year-old Anna White, of St. Joseph, Missouri, died after a GMC Sierra and Jeep Grand Cherokee collided around 10:55 p.m.

An investigation showed that the GMC was travelling south on North 34th Road when it crossed Highway 2. The GMC was struck in the intersection by an eastbound Jeep, and the vehicles came to a rest in the southeast ditch.

The drivers of both vehicles were not injured, but White was pronounced dead at the scene. She was travelling as a passenger in the Jeep, according to the patrol.

A child riding in the GMC was taken to Children’s Hospital with serious injuries but non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. The Nebraska State Patrol assisted the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office in its investigation.
