New Lincoln Public Schools security director discusses role
After the Oregon school shooting, similar acts of violence are on the minds of parents, and especially for the new Lincoln Public Schools security director. New Lincoln Public Schools security director, Nate Hill, has discussed his role in overseeing the district threat assessment team. Hill oversees a team of seven members who review all reported threats, which can range from a complaint to someone threatening violence at the school. The team receives several reports a day and determines what is credible and what may be a student complaint. Hill said he is proud of his team's diligence and hopes to hire more people to the team in the future. Every year, Hill and school staff and administrators re-up on training to be prepared in case of a threat to the school, he said.
